Bouncy Balls....a bedtime buddy....who'da thunk?

I took the girls to Target on Valentines Day and let them pick out something for themselves.  Out of the entire store, they picked an item from the dollar spot! Lol!  The item of choice for Kate was a magnifing glass and for Maddie a package of 4 bouncy balls. For those of you that do not know, she absolutely LOVES bouncy balls.

Later, we were to meet Daddy at Red Robin for a family dinner.

We arrived and we were greeted by the manager. I asked for a booth table that would seat 4.  He left quickly and said he'd be right back.   I had no idea what he was doing... He came back, got down on Maddie's level, and told her he had a surprise for her. She was shy at first but was curious to see what he had hiding in those hands. (He had no idea how much Maddie loves bouncy balls and didn't see the ones she just bought b'c I put them in my purse.) He opened both hands and here came this high pitched squeal! She lit up and started jumping up and down saying, "Mommy look, bouncy balls, I love it!!" It made that Manager's day, and he made her day! She tried her best to hold as many as she
could in her hands, but couldn't quite fit them all. Afterall, he gave her 10 of them! lol!!

She insists on doing things all by herself, so I showed her that she had pockets on her skirt. The light bulb came on and she began stuffing her pockets with her goodies.  It was so funny and cute!! She's never owned so many bouncy balls at one time; which is a good thing b'c they tend to bounce into the land of the unknown, never to be found again.

Tonight four of those bouncy balls HAD to come to bed with her. It would have been more but that is all she could fit in her hands. I gave her the talk about not putting them in her mouth, explaining that it could be dangerous.  I think she understood, but I was still nervous about leaving her unsupervised with those balls in her hand. I waited until she went to sleep before I attempted to get them. I literally had to pry those suckers out of her hand! Lol! She was snoring and sound asleep, but she could still feel me trying to get them. After each grab she'd squeeze the other bouncy balls tighter! lol!

I was successful in getting all of them.

I guess we've added another bedtime buddy to her collection!!
